Tasting at the Tides 2

Does wine served in paper bags, accompanied by bread & water sound like something you would care to attend? We are certainly hoping! To start off the fall season the Society for American Wines, Halifax Chapter, will reprise this well received event.

Again, this will be a wine tasting aimed at all audiences, beginner to expert. As the wines are not identified until thoroughly discussed, all should benefit from this challenge of the senses. Although this is not a dining event, following the tasting, Chef Chris Burton will present us with a sampling of appetizers. Amongst a varied and accomplished career on both coasts of the country, Chris is a former executive chef of Five Fisherman restaurant.

NOTE:

  • We are privileged again this year to have SAW veteran, past president and wine aficionado, Brian Knight to lead this tasting. His engaging style, passion and knowledge of wine and interactive nature of the tasting makes for an entertaining evening!
  • Please confirm as soon as possible as spaces are limited! We need lead time to plan for wine and food. As well, we need to know by Tuesday, September 23rd if you are unable to attend. Those who do not cancel will be charged the full amount.
  • This event is open for everyone… members and non-members!
  • Reception wine will be the now sold out Benjamin Bridge Nova 7, the beginning of a new generation of wine styles in Nova Scotia.

Directions:
From the Bedford Highway & Hammonds Plains Road intersection, travel along Bedford Highway towards Halifax and take the 2nd lights beyond (Moirs Mill is the first light, Southgate is the 2nd). If you are coming from Halifax, turn at the next light beyond Travelers & Esquire Motels.
Either way there is only 1 way to turn at the light, and that is up hill! The first left is 36 Southgate (a condominium complex called The Tides).
Parking is to the left of the building, or on Southgate Drive itself. Upon entering the front of the building, enter the code for Pilkington.
