Here are the events we are working on over the next few months. Dates are still subject to change so please do not book until the official email notice comes out:
The Halifax, Nova Scotia Chapter of the Society for American Wines (SAW) meets throughout the year to explore the wines of the United
States through educational and fun tastings, special events, and fine dinners.
We offer tastings of carefully selected wines with commentary (sometimes by the winery representatives or wine makers themselves) and
encourage the involvement of members. These tastings often involve dinners at local restaurants or clubs. Thus, the close ties between
food and wine are maintained and both are enhanced. In this way, good wine is not only associated with good food but the union takes on a
social character.
For some, the high point of our season is the annual California Wine Fair. At a convenient location in Halifax, the industry tastes during the afternoon, while the public is invited to compare wines from sixty plus wineries. The atmosphere is relaxed, the scene appropriate for discussion and evaluation. The wines, the company and some attractive light food make the evening memorable.
Come and explore with us the remarkable diversity of high-quality Californian Wines, many of them unavailable in Nova Scotia. Join us and take advantage of an opportunity to expand your knowledge and increase your enjoyment of fine wines.
